Layout overload & a fun giveaway

I've got more sneek peeks to share later but right now I have about 1,000 layouts to post!
This month I got to work with the fun Who's There line from My Little Shoebox.
I love these fun new scalloped papers that My Little Shoebox has come out with.
{I actually cut the middle out of this one to make this layout}
This is a quick card using some of the die cuts from this line.
{sorry for the lousy picture-I could not get a good one!}
I really just wanted to play with these colorful papers and make fun flowers!
{and I like how they look against the kraft paper}
*****
IT IS NOT HERE
BECAUSE
IT IS BEING
PUBLISHED!!!
*****
And while I was sitting there, I did a simple card based on the above layout using the scraps I had leftover.
{I love these Sprinkles alphabet stickers!)

Don't forget about the My Little Shoebox layout contest going on at 2peas!
The deadline is April 15th so you still have time!
______________________________________________________________
This is my latest contribution to the KI gallery.
I actually scrapped these pictures about a year ago.
But I scrapped them digitally when I got all ambitious for about a day and a half and tried to learn digi.
Who was I foolin'??
I decided I needed something in paper to be able to physically put in an album.
{and I really wanted to play with the new KI Playful Pets line!}

_____________________________________________________________
And one more...
I did this layout for this week's challenge over on the American Crafts blog.
The challenge is to use the new Craft Fair line.
{and that was no challenge for me because this is my favorite of their new lines!}
**THE LAYOUT IS NOT HERE
BECAUSE IT IS BEING PUBLISHED**

Ooooh looky

Look at all these fun books that Memory Makers was so nice to send me to give away during my classes at the Scrap Etc event.
I am pretty sure a couple of those books (Playing with Paper there on the top by Angelia Wigginton and Scrapbook Secrets by Kimber McGray there about 4 books up from the bottom) are brand spankin' new!
You may not even be able to buy them yet.
{but you may get one if you come to my class...wink, wink}

Enough from me for one day?
I think so.

:)

It is going to be fun!

Now carry on with your usual Monday.
I hope it is a good one!

TGIF

Well I am in a much better mood now.
{for several reasons but mostly because it is almost Friday & I am working only a 1/2 day tomorrow and Meredith & Derek are engaged and I got a cute shirt from NYC from my parents and my brother-David or page 6 as many of you know him-is moving back to the South and my house is clean and, well you know, life ain't that bad}
_____________________________________________________________
Anywhooo, I posted this layout today over on the MMM blog.
I made this one based on Becky Fleck's halfmap in the March/April issue of Memory Makers.

Supplies: Patterned paper (American Crafts: red scallop, KI Memories: black & green), Chipboard alphabet (American Crafts), Chipboard embellishments (KI Memories), Brads (KI Memories), Misc (kraft paper, staples)
____________________________________________________________________________

Speaking of Memory Makers, have you seen the announcement for the 2010 {that is weird to type} Masters Contest??
Check it out here.
They have changed the rules this year with the biggest change {in my opinion} being the voting for the winners.
Well the powers-that-be at Memory Makers will narrow it down to 20 and then we, the general scrapbooking public, get to vote for who we want to see as the 10 Masters.
Now, I will admit that upon first reading the rules I was a bit disappointed with this voting thing.

However, I had an epiphany in the shower this morning {or was it yesterday?}.
Every year in the Masters contest the judges pick 10 Masters and 10 runners-up.
So basically all that is changing this year with the voting is the judges are now saying, "OK here are our winners and runners-up. Here are our best 20. Now you tell us which 10 are your favorite. You tell us which 10 you want to see featured in our magazine."
I think I am going to like the voting.
Oh and I will be casting my vote!
And I can think of a few people I would like to see as Masters next year.
So get to scrapping people!

Bah humbug

Please excuse my bad mood.
I get like this alot on Sunday evenings as I realize that the weekend is almost over & I have to go back to work in the morning.
And it is especially bad when I have had a great weekend
{which does put quite the dampener on the otherwise pleasant couple of days}.
_______________________________________________________________
Let's see...
got in a nice run on Saturday
visited with friends
enjoyed the beautiful weather
played with my camera & took some cute pictures
experimented with Photoshop actions {I actually read a tutorial & everything}
watched Twilight with Katie {who so generously allowed me into the Twilight club for the evening even though I have not read the books}
hung out with Lee
watched the Nascar race {which was still enjoyable even though Jr. did mediocre}
and scrapped {which I did feel slightly guilty about considering the great weather}
_______________________________________________________________
This layout is another one that I did for the MMM blog using that same basic design that I have been using lately {and that I mentioned a couple of posts ago).
I made this next one for the Thickers Challenge going on over on the American Crafts blog.
The challenge is to use 3 different types of Thickers on a layout.
(both layouts using new American Crafts products)
_____________________________________________________________
Looks like I have been using alot of American Crafts lately!
Have I mentioned that they are going to be a huge sponsor for my class at the Scrap Etc event??
They are sponsoring my class along with Prism, KI Memories, and My Little Shoebox.
YAY!!
______________________________________________________________
And having to go to work in the morning just ruins everything.
But, alas, I should not complain.
It pays the bills.
_______________________________________________________________
Hope you had a great weekend too!
Happy Monday!
{if that is possible}

It's spring!!

I love this time of year for several reasons.
The yardboy is back!
The little trees in our front yard are finally blooming!
The yardboy is getting all kinds of yummy things ready to plant in our back yard.
The yard is starting to turn green!
And I am wearing flip flops and a tank top.
I love it!
I hope you are having a wonderful first Saturday of spring!

Purging

I am feeling the need to do this.
{purging my scrapping supplies, that is}
I have way too much.
And I love most of it but I am not going to use it all.
I find myself reaching for the same things these days anyway so alot of my stuff is good stuff that I am just wasting.
But somebody would like it!
One on my co-workers little daughter is getting into scrapbooking so I thought I could give her some stuff.
I've thought about donating it to a school around here.
If I give it away here would anybody want any of it?
I mean, I am talking 1/2 used alphabets and sticker sheets, opened packs of chipboard, pieces of this and that, etc.
I am just rambling now.

Excited about this

Running this one for several reasons:
1. for all the men in my life
2. because, duh, it is Talladega and I already know which #88 hat I am going to wear
3. well, basically the race course description sold me
The half-marathon (13.1 miles/21 kilometers or better yet, 21,000 meters – thus the name of the event) will begin at 8:30 a.m. on the Talladega Superspeedway. You’ll take a trip down pit road, merge onto turn one, run around to the back stretch and exit out to the service road just before turn three, take a trip around the service road and out onto the grounds outside of the track, come back in through the main gates, up through (under) the grandstands, then up onto the service road that runs above turns one and two (providing a spectacular view looking down at the six story embankment), through (under) the grandstands on the back stretch, back around the service road, through the tunnel to the track’s infield, wind around the infield and enter the track at turn one, and run a complete lap of the track to the finish line (imagine the race to the finish line between Ricky Bobby and Jean Girard in Talladega Nights).
4. and because I am holding out hope that Dale Jr. will make a surprise appearance
I mean, it is an off weekend for Nascar so there is a chance.
{a girl can hope}
Wanna join me??

Cool

Happy Friday!
Thanks for all the cool, creative suggestions for the desk/chair.
But with so many great ideas I think I need more than one!
I will let you know what I do with the one I have {for now} when I figure it out!
_______________________________________________________________
In other news, My Little Shoebox has teamed up with 2peas to run a fun little contest!
Make some stuff with your favorite MLS products, post them on 2peas, and hopefully you will win!
Learn more details and rules and stuff here.
_______________________________________________________________
I have been scrapbooking!
{big surprise, right??}
I got ahold of some of the new American Crafts stuff and I am loving it!
I made these 3 layouts last weekend using the same basic design to get them done.
{I did a post about this on the MMM blog also}
These are all pictures from recent runs/races that have been piling up.
I needed to get them scrapped!
So same basic design + fun, new products = 3 layouts done in 1 night!

Lee has to work tonight so I predict an evening involving scrapbook products, wine, and "27 Dresses" in my future.

I love it!

I love the warm sun.
And I love Girl Scout cookies!
Supplies: Patterned paper (Little Yellow Bicycle), Brads (KI Memories & Little Yellow Bicycle), Buttons (Little Yellow Bicycle), Chipboard alphas (American Crafts), Flowers (Prima), Pen (American Crafts), Misc (kraft paper)
Ahhh, spring!

Check it out

OK yall know my crazy friend Brittney, right?!
Well that crazy kid is doing a 3-day walk in Atlanta to raise money and awareness for breast cancer.
It is a 60-mile walk...20 miles each day for 3 days.
{I told yall she was crazy}
She is going to have to set up her own tent to sleep at night and that in itself is worth paying money to watch!
Anyway, she and some girls from her church have formed a team to do this thing.
They are, get this, "Saving Private Parts"!!!
{hilarious}
Well Saving Private Parts needs your help to raise money!
Their goal is to raise $10,000!
You can donate 2 ways.
1. Go to Brittney's blog, click on the link on the top right, and donate. Simple as that.
2. Enter to attend the Scrap Etc event for only $10!
Lucy has so kindly agreed to donate a ONE space to the event to be raffled for Saving Private Parts!
That is a $399 value for only $10.00!
It's very simple. You pay $10 for a chance to attend the event.
Everyone that buys a chance will be entered.
Brittney will draw one name to be the winner.
And the best part is that your $10 will go directly to the Susan G. Komen foundation in the fight for a cure for breast cancer!
So, will you help Saving Private Parts?
Will you donate $10 for one chance, or $30 for 3 chances, etc?
Call Scrap Etc to donate (205/985-9323).

I got one this past weekend that says "Run like a rockstar"
Silly Lee bothers to ask me, "So how exactly does a rockstar run?"
Uh, duh, just like me!
Silly boy.

I am sorry to say that I do not know the girl that won the KI giveaway this week.
I guess other people need to win sometimes! :)
Never fear, though! Go leave a comment on this post for another chance to win.
And check out the super cute layouts up there with the new Girl Girl and Princess lines from KI. ______________________________________________________________

I suppose that is enough randomness from me for one night.

Tagged, etc.

Happy hump day.
2 more days until the weekend.
Sweet.

That wine from my last post is called Rosa Regale.
I highly recommend it.
______________________________________________________________
I have been tagged by the fabulous Kelli Johnson who I wish was coming to the Scrap Etc event this year.
How come money doesn't grow on trees??

Anyway, here are the rules:
Choose the 6th image out of your 6th picture folder from your computer and blog it. Then tag 6 more people to do the same.

So here is the 6th picture from the 6th folder of pictures on my computer.
This one is from the "Disney 2009" folder.

This is the Grand Floridian at Walt Disney World.
Lee and I splurged to stay here when I ran the marathon this past January.
We took this picture from the monorail.
That was my most favorite thing about staying at the GF-being able to hop on the monorail straight from the hotel and be at Magic Kingdom in less than 5 minutes.
We just did not give ourselves enough time to do all the things at Disney and enjoy the beautiful hotel and all it had to offer!
I cannot wait until we can go back!
______________________________________________________________
This is an easy one so I will tag:

My Little Shoebox is having a new design team call!
They are stuck with me for another year but they are adding more people too!
Check out the blog for more details.
Please check it out!

Challenge!

Today is my Monday to do a challenge over on the KI blog.
My challenge for this week is to scrap something inanimate.
{you know, something that is not living/not alive}
_______________________________________________________________
My layout is about my favorite wine.
I first had this wine in France at Epcot last year.
I am really not much of wine drinker but this stuff was good!
But of course I did not catch the name of it.
We tried many bottles of wine from many different stores over the course of the next year-many of which got poured straight down the drain because they were no good!
When we went back to Disney this past January, I made a beeline for France when we went to Epcot.
I described the wine I had the year before.
They immediately knew what I was talking about.
I had 2 glasses...that night.
And we bought a bottle to bring home with us.
More importantly I remembered the name of it.
Imagine my surprise when I found it at the Publix like 2.5 miles from my house.
I might make friends with the wine guy there.
_______________________________________________________________
So that is the story. Here is the layout.

_______________________________________________________________
By the way, if you leave a comment here you will be entered for a chance to win more KI products.
And Jenney won last week.
I'm telling ya...people that I know win!

So go comment!

Happy Monday!
