Yesterday was my day to do a post on the Kenner Road blog.
I was totally inspired by this post that Gigi did last week and decided to do a layout inspired by quilts myself.
And I love how it turned out!
{all supplies-except the kraft-are from the April Kenner Road main kit & add-on kit}

You might want to check out a little something KI has going on on the big day.
{it's Saturday for all you non-scrappers. oh wait, i am pretty sure there is nobody else that reads this}
It involves a Silhouette giveway!!!

I love Soup!

I actually really do like soup-preferably broccoli cheese & taco.
And potato soup is pretty good too.
Buuut that is not what I am talking about today.
I'm talking about Jillibean Soup!!
Yesterday was my day in the sun as their guest desinger over on their blog!
Any company that makes rad patterned kraft paper and corrugated cardboard alphas is way up there in my book!
I got to play with all kinds of new stuff including Old World Cabbage Stew, Egg Drop Soup, cool canvas flowers, new alpha stickers, and
i-can't-get-enough-of-these corrugated alphas!
And this is what I made with all that...

{i am making mad progress on Lindsay's baby book!}

So there you have it!
Fun stuff is that Jillibean Soup!
Be sure to keep your eye on their blog-they do a great job of posting fun new projects almost daily!

Redneck woman

Now I don't keep my Christmas lights on my front porch all year long.
And I don't know the words
to every Tanya Tucker song.
But I do participate in Talladega race weekend festivities twice a year.

Which by many people's standards would classify me as a redneck.

I can't really help it though.
I am from Mississippi.
I was born this way.
:)
And I am OK with that!
Because we always have a good ole time!
Even if my driver/boyfriend runs good all day & then tuckers out at the very end.

No worries, though!
We will be back in October to cheer him on again!

Yee haw!!

Meadowlark

That's the name of the newest line from
My Mind's Eye.
And it is way cool!
The entire line (paper, die cuts, journaling cards) is black and white!
Fabulous.
So I paired it with some of the red Lush & made these cards.

:)
That's all I've got!
Happy Monday!!

And here is a layout I did for the My Mind's Eye blog using the new So Sophie line.
The colors in this line are fabulous!

So apparently it was true

I did have something up on the Making Memories blog!
I used my Slice to make this layout.
I cut the frame around the title and "nature" with the Vintage Findings card.
The frame is adhered with foam adhesive.
And I didn't forget an "i" in spring-the "i" is supposed to be stem of the flower.
Get it??!
:)
I cut the background flower using the Basic Elements card that came with the Slice.
I made a card too.
Both the scalloped frame and "smile" are from the Basic Elements card also.
I cut "smile" out of white paper first just to see what it would look like.
But I couldn't just throw it away so I used it to make a little shadow behind the kraft sentiment.
I adhered the frame on the card with foam adhesive also to give it cool dimension.
There you have it!
Fun stuff with Making Memories and the Slice!
:)

Yippee!
Kenner Road's April kits are on sale now!
And I can share my layouts!
I got the main kit (Patchwork) and the add-on kit (Nine Patch) to play with.
This kit is fabulous!
Seriously it has every color of the rainbow in it.

This is my friend Lindsay
{or Z as I like to call her}.
Baby Bryson who I have done a lot of layouts of lately belongs to her.
This pic is just the sweetest!
I am crossing my fingers & toes that this layout does not do any jinxing.
This one is a mere observation and mild ribbing of these 2 individuals.
There are no implications here.
Previous layouts of certain couples were more forward than this one; thus making this layout {hopefully) immune to jinxes.
:)
I bet you thought I actually sewed on a layout!
Sike!
The paper came like this.
We R Memory Keepers did the leg work for me.
And it's probably a good thing because as clumsy as I have been lately, I probably would have sewn through a finger!
And a card!
Because I could not resist the sweet little chipboard dress that came in the Dear Lizzy pack of Thickers!
One layout of each brother.
You are welcome.
Man I need a haircut!
:)

Will you go check out the Making Memories blog for me??
Because they asked me to do a project using my Slice to be featured over there & I am still not believing it is really true.
:)
Happy hump day!

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

Hello Tuesday!
I like you so much better than Monday!
:)
I am feeling the need to do some major spring cleaning around my house starting with my scrap room.
It is OUT.OF.CONTROL.
I am wondering if I do a major purge & fill some flat rate boxes full of stuff if anybody would pay the shipping for them.
Let me know & I might just do that.

My Mind's Eye challenge

This month's challenge is up on the
My Mind's Eye blog!
The theme of this challenge is "Dream big" based on a song of the same name
by Ryan Shupe and the RubberBand.
And you have to use this sketch.
{see the blog for much better details than I am giving you}
Here is my take on the challenge.
The sketch is right up my alley & I stuck pretty close to it here.
And for good measure I made a card too.
I used the sketch a little more loosely but it is there if you look close!
You have until April 22 to complete the challenge.
So play along!
{and MME gives really good prizes!}
Happy Monday!

Man! I was on a roll!

But I was a blog slacker this week!
I am going to end the week strong though!
Ha!
Here's another layout of baby Bryson using all new My Little Shoebox stuff.
{well, those foam letters aren't new but still fun!}
And here is the reason I was a slacker this week...
I got the April Kenner Road kit in the mail!!
It totally distracted me from all responsibilities outside of my 8-5:00 work day!
:)
This kit will be available to purchase on the 14th & the gallery will go live then also.
Until then, you have to settle for my teasers!
:)
That's all I've got!

WHOOP WHOOP!!

I get to be the guest designer for
My Mind's Eye this month!
AND I PRETTY MUCH COULD NOT
BE MORE EXCITED ABOUT IT!! See, I have had a long love affair
with My Mind's Eye.
{don't worry, Lee knows}
I have loved them since all the way back in their Wild Asparagus & Kaliedescope days when I discovered them not long after I started scrapbooking.
And several years later I have yet to meet a My Mind's Eye line that I do not adore.
Yes, I am speaking strongly about a company that makes paper.
But my love is just that deep.
Needless to say, I am very excited to get to work with them this month!!
I've got lots of new MME products to work with and there is going to be all kinds of fun stuff going on over on the blog.
I hope you will join me there this month!
{you can see my intro post here & if you leave a comment there you have a chance to win my favorite MME goodies}
I am thinking April is going to be a good month!
hehe!
{i will be back later tonight to post the My Little Shoebox giveaway winner-there is still time to enter-just scroll down a few posts}

Happy Easter!!

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him
we might become the righteousness of God.
2 Cor. 5:21

He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.
