BOO!!

Have you seen the October issue of Creating Keepsakes yet??
I am a little partial to this issue because 1) I really do feel like this issue is packed full of great layouts, and 2) I finally have a layout in the sketch section!!
Woo hoo!!
Remember back this summer when I was making all those layouts for my friend Lindsay?
Well she was nice enough to let me use her family pics to make this layout to submit.

Supplies: Patterned paper (Hambly-black, My Mind's Eye-striped & swirly), Chipboard alphabet (American Crafts), Glitter alpha stickers (Making Memories), Die cuts (My Mind's Eye, Making Memories), Bling (Advantus), Stickers (KI Memories), Ribbon (KI Memories)

Well tomorrow is October so happy fall yall!!

Scrapbookers are cool

It's official!
Look at this article I found in the back of a recent People magazine:
In case you can't see that little blurb in the bottom left corner, let me point out that it says (when asked about her weirdest habit), "Scrapbooking-is that weird? I just love it. I could sit on the floor for weeks and put together collages, keepsakes, and photos."
No, Christina it is not weird.
Not at all.
I feel ya.
I really do.
I mean first Melissa Joan Hart was spotted at CHA!
{remember this layout??}
Then Paris Hilton came out with a line of scrapbooking supplies.
And now Christina Aguilera reveals that she is a scrapbooker at heart!
I tell ya, this scrapbooking thing is catching on!
Before long we are going to see Becky Higgins and Cathy Z in the tabloids!

This coming Saturday

Saturday, October 2, 2010
It is the national holiday known as World Cardmaking Day!
If it fell on a weekday surely government offices would be closed and I would be off work.

To celebrate the day, I will be teaching a card class at Scrapbook Mania.
So that you can get a jump on them, we are going to be making 4 Christmas cards using the new Cosmo Cricket and Basic Grey Christmas lines.
The cost is only $10!
And it starts at 1:00.
Call the store to sign up!

It is challenge time again over on the My Mind's Eye blog!
The challenge this month is to create a "thank you" layout using this sketch.
So I made a layout about my friendship with Lindsay.
And I got farther and farther away from the sketch the more I added to the layout!
Oh well, it was my starting point at least!
:)
{the challenge isn't due until tonight so you can play along also if you hurry up!}
Thanks for looking at mine!

It's ON!!

Marathon training is now in full swing!
3 weeks of the 16 week training program are completed.
D-day is Sunday, January 9th.
I am hoping 3 times will be a charm.
After the first one I never wanted to run another step.
After the 2nd one I felt like I had redeemed myself.
For the 3rd one I hope to be much better trained than I was for the first 2 and put up a time better than 4:30.
Yes sirree!Supplies: Patterned paper (My Mind's Eye-white background; Fancy Pants-pink/orange dotted; Sassafras-border strips), Chipboard 3s (Sassafras, Pink Paislee, American Crafts), Sticker 3s (Making Memories, Jenni Bowlin)
That's the goal.
But I am afraid I am might have to give up my beloved Dr. Pepper here soon in order to help me achieve that goal.
Dangit.

Labor Day challenge!

Happy Labor Day!
and HOORAY!! for a day off work!
Today is my day to put up a challenge on the KI blog.
I thought it only appropriate to do a Labor Day-related challenge.
So the challenge is to scrap your job!
Everybody's got a job in some form or fashion.
Some people go into the office
from 8:00-5:00.

Others work from home raising kids and maintaining the peace.
:)
Whatever you do every day, scrap it!
Whatever takes up the majority of your day, scrap it!
Here is what I made...
Supplies: Calendar page, patterned paper, chipboard letters, Scribbles stickers, bling: all KI Memories

Have a happy Labor Day!!
Enjoy your day off!
{maybe you should scrapbook a little}
