KI Challenge

Today is my day to put up a challenge on the KI blog.
And since Mother's Day is less than 2 weeks ago I thought I would issue a simple yet very practical challenge:
Make a Mother's Day card and SEND IT!!
So I pulled out some Puffies and a new pack of KI patterned paper
and made this:

Crossing my fingers that I remember to mail it next week!

P.S.
I have a layout featured on the Bella Blvd blog today!

Happy Easter!

"Surely he took up our infirmities
and carried our sorrows,
yet we considered him stricken by God,
smitten by him, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our
transgressions,
he was crushed for our
iniquities;
the punishment that brought us
peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are
healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to his own way;
and the Lord has laid on him the inquity of us all."
Isaiah 53: 4-6

I usually think most Fridays are good

But this one is especially good.

"It was the third hour when they crucified him.
The written notice of the charge against him read: The King of the Jews."
John 15:25-26

"With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last.
The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. And when the centurion who stood there in front of Jesus, heard his cry and saw how he died, he said, 'Surely this man was the Son of God!'"
John 15:38-39

"So Joseph bought some linen cloth, took down the body, wrapped it in the linen, and placed it in a tomb cut out of rock. Then he rolled a stone against the entrance of the tomb."
John 15:46

Surely it is a Good Friday.

New challenge!!

There's a new challenge up at Noel Mignon!
Now technically this shouldn't be a "challenge" but for me, it is.
The challenge is just to use stamps on a project.
For most people that is no challenge at all.
But for some reason, I don't ever stamp.
So this "challenge" was good for me then!
{well it was good after i finally found my dang clear block!}
And this stamp from the Jump & Jive kit is pretty cool so I really wanted to use it!

And this is what I made...
I think I used bits and pieces from 3 different Noel Mignon kits!
I love how well her kits all mix together!
And you know I don't want to waste a single bit!
The challenge runs until the 29th so come play along with us!
There is a pack of new Hambly washi tape up for grabs for one lucky participant!
Don't miss out!!
(here is the challenge)

And in other fun Noel Mignon happenings, here is a little taste of what is coming next!

Playing along

I played along with the card challenge over on the My Mind's Eye blog this month while I watched Alabama's A-day game and the end of the Nationwide race at Talladega on this most lazy of Saturdays.

{but I did run the Statue to Statue 15k this morning which is deemed "The South's Toughest 15k" so I think I earned the laziness of the rest of this day}

Here is the sketch...
I pulled out my Jump & Jive kit from Noel Mignon (since MME products are a staple in her kits) and made this card...
Supplies: My Mind's Eye patterned paper, chipboard, & die cuts from the Noel Mignon Jump & Jive kit; I pulled the My Mind's Eye bling out of my stash & used my handy Martha Stewart butterfly punch that I cannot seem to get enough of these days!

The challenge goes until the 21st so you have time to play along
too!
:)
And a happy lazy Saturday to ya!

I played along with the Little Yellow Bicycle sketch challenge this month.
Here's the layout I made!
I stuck to the sketch for the most part minus the picture on the left.
{haven't i already mentioned that i have been going a little butterfly crazy lately?!! spring! i blame it on spring!!}
Supplies: Patterned paper, journaling strips (Twig from Little Yellow Bicycle); Bling (Advantus); Alpha stickers (American Crafts); Butterfly punch (Martha Stewart)

Have I shared this one yet??

I don't think I have!

How simple is this one??!!
But I like it because the pictures don't get lost in a flurry of paper and embellishments.

Supplies: Patterned paper (Basic Grey, Cosmo Cricket, Scenic Route, My Mind's Eye); Chipboard alphas (Pink Paislee); Alpha stickers (Basic Grey); Chipboard stars (Advantus); Journaling block (Jenni Bowlin)

That layout was published in the March/April issue of Creating Keepsakes.

And that was Stuart his senior year of college-back in the good ole days of college tennis!

Speaking of tennis...haven't played that in a while.

I wonder where my rackets are.

****

Something else...

that green background paper is some of Basic Grey's "solids".

I swear they used to make a big pack of the various solids.

I could be wrong.

{but that is so rare. ha!}
But I sure can't find anything of the sort around here!

If anybody knows if such a thing exists and, more importantly, where I could get a big ole pack pul-lease let me know!!!
I would be forever grateful!!
{and i might dig into my bag of giveaway stuff just for you!}
:)

Happy Tuesday folks!!

Midnight Rooster REVEAL!!

Let me just tell ya...

I love a good kit!
I really enjoy having everything together in one big baggie and not having to sort through all the stuff in my scrap room!
{makes you wonder why I keep it all, huh??!! ha!}

Anywhooooo, this month's Midnight Rooster kit did not disappoint!
What is not to love about some Crate Paper, My Mind's Eye, October Afternoon, Jenni Bowlin, Cosmo Cricket, and American Crafts showing up right on my doorstep!?!

So I felt compelled to make some stuff...

Like this layout about my new sister-in-law

{I mean my new sister!}

And how about this one about us eating "authentic" Mexican food in Progresso while we were on our cruise last fall.

And then there is this one about my Dad's crazy side of the family!

And some cards!
Cards are good!

{i have been trying lately to actually send some of my cards!! there is no need for them to just be collecting dust.}

Did I mention I went a bit butterfly crazy with this kit??
It must be all this nice spring weather we are having!

New challenge!

Noel challenged us to scraplift one of the members of the community over at Noel Mignon.
She is calling it the "We all need a lift" challenge.
:)
I chose to lift the fabulous Caz!!
How sweet is this layout??!
I could not resist lifting it!
I did my best to implement her 8.5x11 style into my 12x12 page.
I love how she did her journaling around the edges of the page so I had to do that!!
And of course I love the tilted photo and the hearts!!
Thanks for the inspiration Caz!!
Supplies: Patterned paper (Echo Park, Crate Paper); border sticker (Crate Paper); rub-ons (Hambly); chipboard alphabet (American Crafts); brads (My Mind's Eye)
Everything is from the Jump & Jive kit!

Happy Tuesday folks!!
