Scraplift

Remember this new book
I mentioned a couple weeks ago?

Well here is another layout that I have in there...

Supplies: Patterned paper (Basic Grey, My Mind's Eye), Chipboard alphas (Advantus), Bookplates & brads (7gypsies)

For some reason it is one of my most favorite layouts ever!
Therefore it has become the basis for many a scraplift of mine.
Like this layout I made for the KI blog not too long ago...

And I am pretty sure it helped inspire the layout in the post below.
I love a good scraplift!
:)
And I love a 3-day weekend too!
Can't wait!

Another one

I've got another layout in the July/August issue of
Creating Keepsakes.
And it is a good one!
It's all about how my Dad asked my Mom out for the very first time.
Funny story!
And now I have it documented!
Supplies: Patterned paper (My Mind's Eye, Pink Paislee, The Girls' Paperie, KI Memories);
Chipboard alphas (Basic Grey); Heart punch (The Paper Studio)

And speaking of scrapbooking addictions...
(see previous post)
those Basic Grey chipboard letters on that layout!!
I need more!
But I canNOT find them anywhere.
Nowhere I tell ya!!
If anyone knows where I can get some, let me know!!
I would love it!
:)
Happy Wednesday!

Hello my name is Gretchen

...and I am addicted to Foldies.
But the first step in recovery is admitting I have a problem, right?!!
:)
It all started when I got my first sheet of Foldies in a Noel Mignon kit.
And how nice Noel was to include a sheet of Foldies in both the Bees Knees kit and in the Mary Ellen kit so at least I can get my fix!
Here is a layout I made last weekend using the Foldies...
{everything here is from the Bees Knees kit!}
I had to really try hard not to use the entire sheet of Foldies on this single page!
*****
OK moving past my Foldies addiction!
I discovered another fun little product in the Bees Knees kit.
How sweet are these vintage paper posies from Maya Road!!??

They were perfect for a simple sympathy card I made for a friend...

{everything here is from the Bees Knees kit also}
*****
Anybody else willing to admit to scrapping addictions??
Come on! Fess up!
It will make me feel better!
:)
Happy Tuesday!

Catching up

Woah!
I have a ton of scrapbook-related catching up to do on this ole blog since there wasn't much blogging going on last week!
*****
First up: Focus On Cards + Puffies!
Last week was my week to do the Friday "Focus On" over on the KI blog.
My post was all about how the new Puffies are perfect for cards!
Seriously, cards & Puffies are a match made in heaven!
I made this birthday card for the post.

And there is so much more inspiration from the other KI designers over on the KI blog.
Check out the post here!
:)
Happy Monday!
See you tomorrow for more of my catching up!

Thank you!!

Thank you to those of you who bought cards and donated money!
I took $120 into Dollar General and bought enough laundry & cleaning supplies to fill up my back seat!
Let's see...there was Comet, PineSol, 409 all-purpose cleaner, Resolve carpet cleaner, lots of bleach, the biggest things of laundry detergent I could lift, and a bunch of sponges & scouring pads in my trunk this morning that is now on its way to people that need it!
THANK YOU!!
*****
And the run was a fun one!
good cause
good weather
good course
good friends!
pictured (left to right): Brittney Smith, Scott Smith, GrandMary, Scott Wood, me

Thanks again!
And happy Saturday!

Tornado Relief 2

So I am running a 5k in Cullman, AL on Saturday.
The run is to raise money for tornado relief!!
I want to do more than just give them my $25 to run the race!
They are in great need of cleaning & laundry supplies as well as tools for rebuilding.
{they no longer need hygiene products, clothes, & baby stuff because they have had so much donated already...i LOVE that!!}
OK how about this...
I have about 20 cards up on this post.
I want to sell them to raise $$ for cleaning & laundry supplies and tools!
If you would like to contribute to the cause, pick out a card (or a few!), email me with the ones you want, and tell me how much you would like to donate.
I will mail them out to you ASAP (shipping is on me).
Then I will take whatever is donated by Friday, MATCH IT, and take the grand total shopping on Friday night before the race!!
Cool??!!

OK now pick out some cards!

Lucky me!
Because check out this sketch:
It is right up my alley!
Using my new Bees Knees kit from Noel Mignon, I made this...
It is such a great sketch that I think you should make something with it too!

Lovin' the sketches

I can't resist a good sketch!
My new Bees Knees kit from Noel Mignon + this sketch from the My Mind's Eye June sketch challenge = the perfect combo for a fun, quick layout!
And this is what I made!
And because this is a late Saturday night blog post,
I am going to leave it at that!
Have a great weekend!

OK one more!

One more layout with the June Midnight Rooster kit!
This one is all about my mad matchmaking skills!
About 3 months ago Lee & I set up a friend of his from way back and a friend of mine from work.
We had talked about setting them up for awhile but finally got around to actually making it happen in early March.
And let me tell ya, I did not think it was going well.
I mean, seriously, I thought the date was a total bust!
But there must have been some secret signals going on between the 2 of them that I did not see!
Friday night was the first date.
By Sunday night the Facebook statuses had changed to "in a relationship".
Boo-yah!
That makes me the matchmaker extraordinaire!
But don't ask me to set you up.
I like my perfect record!
*****
And this is their story...
So have you gotten your kit yet??
I mean, no pressure or anything.
I just don't think this one will be around long!
:)
And TGIF too!

Midnight Rooster REVEAL!

OK first of all, how did it get to be June already!!??
Good grief!
But with a new month, comes a new Midnight Rooster kit!
YAY!!
This one is full of Crate Paper, Echo Park, My Mind's Eye, October Afternoon, and Sassafras!
It's got alot of black & red & cream with a little bit of lots of other colors thrown into the mix too!
Fabulous!!

And here is some stuff I made with it...
{P.S. that piece of star paper from October Afternoon owns me!}
{P.P.S. i cut those silver stars with my Sizzix using some glitter cardstock from my stash}
*****
I love making cards like this one using a bunch of scraps I have lying around!

I've got more to share tomorrow.
But go get your kit before it is gone!

Zac Brown Band

Yes, I am a fan.
So when my friend Jennifer texted me to tell me her date to the Zac Brown concert had bailed and asked if I wanted to go, I could not say YES fast enough!
We had a good ole time!
And of course I had to scrap about it!
:)
*****
OUT FOR

PUBLICATION
******
Right now Noel Mignon has a challenge going on to scrap vintage/real ephemera.
I strategically adhered the film strip & pictures to create a "pocket" behind the right 2 pictures.
Then I was able to slip some memorabilia from the concert into the pocket for safe keeping!
Challenge completed!
I used the Mary Ellen kit from Noel Mignon to make that layout.
However I grabbed that piece of music note paper (The Girls' Paperie) from what is left from my Bedford Falls kit (also from Noel Mignon).
And the oh-so-cool film strip was cut using a Silhouette (thank you Katie!).
{i have got to get me one of those!}
:)
OK!
That's all I've got!
See you tomorrow for the Midnight Rooster reveal!

Reminder!

You do realize that Father's Day is less than 2 weeks away, right??!
{June 19th}
Don't forget to put a card in the mail!
I've got mine done!
I used a bunch of stuff from the KI Memories Over the Rainbow collection to make this one...

Who says glitter isn't masculine??!
{this card is up on the KI blog too}
*****
OK consider yourself reminded!

Wednesday night runs

I am totally digging the latest Noel Mignon kit!
{it is called "Mary Ellen"}
It has every color in the rainbow in it (ok well maybe there isn't any purple)
and it is so packed full of patterned paper I can hardly stand it!
Like I can't scrap fast enough!
:)
I made this layout over the weekend...

I had fun pulling out a lot of the little embellishments in the kit and scattering them around this page.
I don't always think I am good with little embellishments but I tried my best with this one!And I am pretty pleased with how it turned out!
:)
Happy Monday!
