Go leave a comment on the post {here} for a chance to win!
Good luck!
And have a great day!

Inspired by a movie poster

Every week over on the Noel Mignon message board, Noel starts the week off with an inspirational post.
Sometimes she picks a color and posts several cool images showcasing the color.
Sometimes it is about different textures or fabrics/materials.
One time she posted many different ways to use Mason jars.
So cool!
Last week's post was all about movie posters.
Who would have ever thought that movie posters could provide great inspiration for scrapbooking??
Well they do!
I really liked this movie poster...

So I used it to help me make this layout using the Homespun kit from Noel Mignon!

Cool, huh?!!
Inspired by a movie poster!
{and YAY to my parents for 39 years of marriage!!}
:)
I was inspired by the painted look of the red frame on the poster, so I pulled out some paint to make the hearts on this page.(haven't done that in quite a while).
I used a foam brush to paint the red hearts on white cardstock.
After they dried, I cut the hearts out of the cardstock, and used them as embellishments for the layout.

Cards on Thursdays!

It is always cards on Thursdays over on the Bella Blvd blog.

And of course I made a couple of things for it!

*****
I am crazy for the flowers in the new Sunshine & Happiness line!
Can you tell??!
:)

{because, like I have said before, you can never have too many "thank you" cards on hand!}

I've got a friend due to have a baby boy any day now.
And now I've got a card to give her ready to go!

{with as many pregnant people as I am surrounded by, it wouldn't hurt for me to have a bunch of these cards handy too!}

OK that's all I've got for now!
Happy day!

Hip Hip Hooray!!

"Hip Hip Hooray!" is a new birthday line from Pebbles Inc.
And it
is so fun!

It's full of great colors perfect for boy and girl birthdays.

It's also great for birthdays of all ages!

:)

For instance, I used this line to scrap a page about a little, very informal (like just the 3 of us) party my husband and I threw for his brother (my brother-in-law) on his 22nd birthday.
:)
I created a collage of the pictures I wanted to scrap and adhered it to the background cardstock.

Then I used the fun Hip Hip Hooray paper and embellishments to decorate around the collage!
Easy!

Make sure to check out the Pebbles blog all week for lots & lots of fun "Hip Hip Hooray" projects!

March at Midnight Rooster!

The March kit from Midnight Rooster is up for sale!!
YIPPEEEE!!

"Farmer's Wife" it is called and it is so pretty!
Want to see what all I made with it??!
*****
Well on this layout I tried to use the whole pack of October Afternoon die cut cards in the kit!
:) I hand cut the "family" title out of a piece of cardstock.
Then I went a little heart-crazy on this next layout... I hand-stitched around the fabric heart.
That is a technique I have not done much of lately!
I managed to not prick my finger at least even though I was out of practice!
:)
I decorated the front of a mini album from 7gypsies to use as a handy journal.

And I made a couple of cards for good measure!

I made a little birthday card for my grandmother...

And the inside of that card...
Great kit, huh?!

So go get one while there are still some available!!

Have a great day!

Monday mini album

Happy Monday!
*****
I am not much of a mini album maker.
I feel like they take me much longer they should!
BUT whenever I do get around to making one, I usually like the end result.
Take this mini for example...

I made this Disney mini with the new Sunshine & Happiness line from Bella Blvd.

Yep!
A Disney album with a very non-Disney line!

With all the fun, bright colors in the Sunshine & Happiness line, it works!
:)
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great Monday!!

Inspired cards

Tuesday was full of inspiration over on the Bella Blvd blog.
Some of the team members were given this piece of inspiration and told to run with it!

Well I loved all the circles and the blues and greens on the neutral background.

I made good use of my circle punch and created a couple of cards...
(because you can never have enough "Thank you" cards on hand!)

And this next card was my attempt at a more manly "I love you" card.
But I am not so sure how masculine it turned out.

It is still pretty cutesy but at least I did not use pink!
:)

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!

2 kits and a 2-page layout

Hey!
I've been playing with the Charm School and Homespun kits from Noel Mignon.
Ever run into the problem of wanting to make a 2-page layout but you don't have 2 sheets of the same patterned paper??
Well maybe I have a little tip for ya!
I have made a 2-page layout without having 2 sheets of the same patterned paper.
What I did was take 2 different sheets of 12x12 patterned paper and cut each in half
(so each sheet of paper ends up being 2 pieces of 6"x12" paper).
I used 2 pieces of plain ole white cardstock as the base of my layout.
Then I took one of the patterned papers that I cut in half and put one half on the far left side of my 2-page layout and the other half on the far right side of the layout.
Then I took the other sheet of patterned paper that I cut in half and added it to the middle of the 2-page layout.
Make sense??
Clear as mud??!

These honeycomb stickers (Jenni Bowlin) are in the Homespun kit and I think I used the whole sheet of them on this layout!

And there you have it...
a 2-page layout with 2 different sheets of patterned paper!
*****
I feel like I should put something fun here to end this blog post.
But I recently found out that some people
(coughcoughyouknowwhoyouarecoughcough)
do not like Wednesday being referred to as "hump day".
So I am at a total loss for words now!
*****
See ya!
