Twice in one night. Can you handle it??

Because I have been tagged...twice!

I forgot in my last post to mention that I had been tagged by Lee-Ellen.
And just a few minutes ago, while blog-surfing because my internet is yanked up and will really only let me get into my email (thank God) and blogs lately, I noticed that Summer has also tagged me.
So let me play a little catch up!!

____________________________________________________________________

OK for Lee-Ellen, here are the rules:
*If you are tagged, you must firstly post the rules.
*Write 7 strange characteristics about yourself. They interest us all!
*Tag 5 other people at the end of your post.
*Visit everyone that you have tagged and leave a comment on their blog to let them know that they have been tagged.

7 random things about myself:

1. Right now I am wearing jeans, a gray tank top, and flip flops.

2. I worked in the bakery of the Wal-Mart in Panama City the summer after my freshman year of college. I was in charge of the donuts. I had already put on the freshman 15 so those donuts gave me a headstart on the sophomore 60. And I am being serious.

3. I wore a red sequined dress and black heels to my senior prom. Sure did.

4. I think that Milo's sweet tea may be creeping up on Dr. Pepper as my favorite beverage. I wish water would get in the mix somewhere.

5. I can't remember the last time I washed my car.

6. My boss really pissed me off today. But I will still go back tomorrow.

7. I am excited about football season starting...ROOOOOOLL TIDE!

Yeah, that is all pretty random.

OK now for Summer's tag, here are the rules:

(1) The winner can put the logo on their blog.
(2) Link the person you received your award from.
(3) Nominate at least 7 other blogs. (I've also seen 6...)
(4) Put links of those on yours.
(5) Leave a message on the blogs of the girls or boys you’ve nominated.

Is it totally illegal for me just to double-tag 7 people??
I am going for it!

So you, my friends, have been tagged:

Britney

Noel

Janna

Gretchen

Katie (who won this past week's BHG challenge!)

Shelley

Amy

That is really enough from me for one night!

Have a great weekend!

New class

I have a new class on the schedule at Scrap Etc!
Saturday, September 13th, 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
I want to stretch you a little with this class and make you create differently than you normally do.
I am making you step out of your scrapbooking box!
I named this class "Home is..." and you will start an album about your home and what it means to you!
With the cost of the class you will receive an American Crafts 6x12 Corduroy Album and then create (4) 6x12 layouts.
I will get you started with the 4 layouts, then leave you with extra supplies, journaling prompts, and sketches so you can complete the rest of the album on your own.
Also in this class we will play with various techniques like sanding, distressing, and hand-stitching. This is going to be a fun one!

Spaces are limited and so are albums (the albums come in various colors but we have a limited number of each so reserving your color is on a first-come, first-serve basis), so call the store today to reserve your space and the album that you want.

Have a great day!

Hell has frozen!!

WOW, these are crazy times, my friends, crazy times!
I am so glad that I don't have to keep this a secret anymore.
And I am so excited about this opportunity!
A big thanks to the Memory Makers staff for taking a chance on me!

You can see the announcement and meet the rest of the new Masters here.
Congrats to all the Masters and runners up!_________________________________________________________________

In other news, it is my sweet friend Katie's birthday today!
I think she is 22.
So for her birthday I think everybody needs to go vote for her layout that made it into the finals (again) in the last week of the BHG Ultimate Summer Challenge.
Her layout is the "Put your head on my shoulder" masterpiece and you can vote here.
Happy birthday Katie!

I have more layouts to share!
These are a couple of layouts I made with the August collection from Scrap in Style.
This collection is called The Urban Prep and it is filled with American Crafts patterned papers, Making Memories puffy letters, those American Crafts glitter thickers that I am addicted to (how lucky for me! that brings me to a total of like 4 packs of these!), Fontworks chipboard and a stamp, etc. etc.
Good stuff I tell ya!!

It has been a crazy week (good, but crazy) & I am looking forward to the weekend!
I hope you have a great one!

In my dreams I used to be a Kenyan.

Now I am a 38-year-old Romanian!
This is Constantina Tomescu-Dita who is the winner of the marathon in Beijing in a mere 2 & 1/2 hours.
How awesome is she!

I mean I would like to just finish a marathon in twice her time.
Is that too much to ask??!!!
I am 8 years younger than her for pete's sake!

Anybody interested in a Christmas scrapbooking event??
Check it out: Wrappers Delight
November 6-8, 2008 in Birmingham, AL
It will be a fabulous event filled with classes, make 'n takes, & cropping all with a Christmas theme!!
I do hope you will check it out!

I will leave you with a couple of layouts I did last weekend.
I am playing catch-up & trying to get some older-ish pictures scrapped.
Both of these layouts are from the Scrapbooker of the Year banquet last year.
(yes, I am definitely name dropping!)
Right now my single favorite product are the Thickers I used on both of these layouts.
They are the glittery LAX font and I did raid Scrap Etc. of all colors!
That's all folks-short & sweet!
Have a great week!

No time for blogging...

...because I am obsessed with the Olympics!
But I do have a few important things to discuss.

1. I am still doing the weekly challenges for the BHG Ultimate Summer Challenge.
And my layout this week is in the top 10 again.
That means I need more votes.
Here's the deal: If you vote, I win & I will quit asking you for votes.
Deal?
OK so go vote here.
(desperate times call for desperate measures people!).
2. Happy birthday to my Lee.
It is the big 3-1.
He is officially "in" his 30s now.
But I gave him a couple of video games to help keep him young.

3. I am officially signed up to do this again.
I am pretty sure I have lost my mind.
Again.
4. I forgot to share this card when I posted the stuff I made with the new Glitz products.
Shame on me.
The cute pink alphabet and swirly rub-ons are Glitz!
5. U-S-A...U-S-A...U-S-A!!!!

good night,

Saturday night blogging

There was a time in my life when I would not have been caught dead at home on a Saturday night; much less admitting it to anyone willing to read about it!
But, alas, I am 30 and perfectly content to hang at the house.
Plus I was out almost all day at the grand opening of the new & improved Scrap Etc.
It is fabulous with tons of space for classes and crops!
There is so much space that at one time I was almost compelled to do cartwheels between rows of paper.
But this 30-year-old body probably would not have survived that so I did contain myself.
While I was there I picked up some stuff from October Afternoon and I eventually plan on scrapping while watching the Olympics.
That is a perfectly good Saturday night if you ask me!
(This is probably going to be the world's longest post-not because of its content but because I am writing it during commercials. I am going on 1 hour already but that is probably because I always upload my pictures first and then do the typing.)
In other news, I am still working on the weekly challenges for the BHG Ultimate Summer Challenge.
The challenge this past week was to create a layout based on a sketch they provided using some of your favorite summer pictures.
Here is my take on it:
And what do you know?!! I made it into the top 10 this week.
If you feel so compelled, go vote for my layout here.
I can't win if you don't vote! :) Thanks!
While I was at CHA the girls from Glitz hooked me up with some of their new products to make a few things.
This was my first time to use anything from Glitz & let me tell you it won't be the last!
They have some incredible products!
I am excited to share some of the stuff I made!
Speaking of being 30, I have been meaning to do a layout playing on the Tim McGraw song.
I used a mix of his lyrics and my own thoughts to make this layout:
This paper could not be more perfect for some of the pictures from our excursion to Chicago.
This little wall hanging is made out of this album.
Who would have thought it!?!
I have had this album for months and was puzzled by its odd shape.
But at CHA, Eric from Cosmo Cricket showed us this super cute Christmas album made by one of their designers. She had simply turned the album so it looked like an ornament!
Pure genious I tell ya!
So I copied her and made this:
And a little closer look: (I am quite proud of my jingle bells!)

How cool is this guitar paper!?!
This is my friend Nubia's son Isaiah playing Guitar Hero at our house on July 4th.
The XBox provided more entertainment than the fireworks I suppose.
And with the scraps from the above layout, I made this:

So thank you Ginger, Laura, Erin, and Noel (who is my sweet petite friend & one of their designers) for hooking me up with your fabulous products!

Oh yeah, a HUGE CONGRATS to the new Scrap Etc. design team girls: Adrienne Nixon, Amy Nabors, Amy Steenwyk, Carol Snyder, Elizabeth Bailey, Lisa Tanner (or is it Turner?? hehe), Mandy Johnson, Nubia Posey, and Pat Bullard. Yall are in for it now! :)

OK Michael Phelps and Dana Torres are about to swim so I must go!
Have a great weekend!
