P.S.
You know what is hard to spell??
"SNEAK PEEKS"
I mean, is that even correct?
Is it "sneek peeks"?
or "sneak peaks"?
or "sneek peaks"?
Good grief!
I am going cross-eyed!
And yall know that spelling stuff correctly is not one of my fav{e} things to do!

Meeting Rachel

Good morning good people!!
So I did a little scrapping over the weekend with
my Bees Knees kit from Noel Mignon.
I went with a friend (Kali) to the Homewood Library a few weekends ago to meet the author of some great books we have been reading.
{yes i can be quite the nerd but you already knew that with all this scrapping stuff!}
I totally acted like a goober when I met her but of course I had to document the occasion!
That wordy paper from GCD Studios in the Bees Knees kit
was perfect for the theme of this page!
I actually inked the light blue canvas Thickers that come
in the kit with brown ink to distress them a bit.
I wasn't so sure how that was going to turn out...but it worked!
And I couldn't make my journaling work on the front of the layout.
It just didn't look right no matter how I tried it.
So I did all my journaling on the back of the page instead!
So are you curious about who this author is??
Well her name is Rachel Hawkins & she is an Alabama girl!
She is the author of the Hex Hall series.
It is a young adult series {yes at 33 I am still young adult thank you very much!} that has kind of a Twilight meets Harry Potter thing going on.
And it is great!
There will be 3 books in the series and the 3rd book will be out March 2012.
Usually I am late to the party with all trendy things,
{uh i didn't read the Twilight books until after i had already seen the first movie!}
so I am not used to having to wait.
And I am not very happy about it!
Patience is not a virtue of mine!
ha!
Has anybody read these books yet??
*****
OK enough of my rambling for now!
But it might be a 2 post kind of a day.
I've got some Bella Blvd sneaks to share!

Cards

Have you gotten the July kit from Midnight Rooster yet??
I made a couple of cards with it.
(in addition to the layouts in the post below)

I didn't make that butterfly/tissue paper embellishment.
It came pre-made in the kit!
Fabulous!
There are usually a few unique, handmade embellishments like that in every kit!
I love that about Midnight Rooster kits!!
And you better get one before they sell out!
*****
You need to get excited about this too!
It is Sneak Peek Week at Bella Blvd!
There will be sneaks & giveaways on the Bella blog all week and I have some stuff to share here too!
whoop whoop!!!
You are going to love the new lines!!

Happy Monday!

Butterflies {and Justin Bieber}

Ha!
OK really this post is about the July kit reveal
from Midnight Rooster.
But I made you look!
:)
The July kit is appropriately named
"Butterfly Stampede".
How fun is that??!!
And here is what I made...

That is a simple one about the park where I usually run.
I made the "grass" by just messily cutting some green cardstock.
In hindsight I think I should have made the grass go all the way across the bottom of the page, but, eh, I am too lazy to change it now!
:)
This next layout I think is my favorite this month.
Not exactly sure why though.
It might be because I adore that piece of Sassafras paper.
{and I came across another sheet of it while cleaning up my scrap room this evening! score! speaking of scoring, did anyone catch the US/Brazil World Cup game today?? freaking amazing! ok back to scrapping...}
Or maybe it is my favorite because I think I am so clever using the movie ticket stubs!
I never throw them away but usually they just stay in a shoe box under the bed.
:)
And you can add Transformers to that list since the layout was made!
*****
I did mention Justin Bieber didn't I??
Well the fact that my "infatuation" with Justin Bieber has been blown way out of proportion and that my brother-in-law got me a cardboard cut-out JBiebs for Christmas needed to be documented.
And he will totally be getting a Miley Cyrus as payback this year!
:)
Now go get you a kit!!
*****
Tomorrow I will share the cards I made with the kit.
But right now I must get some shut eye!

Friday Focus On...

Today was my day to do the Focus On over on the KI blog.
It is no secret that BRADS are some of my most favorite crafty supplies of all time!
They are a fun way to add some dimension to a project.
They are cheap!
They are a convenient alternative to adhesive.
They seem to always add a fun bit of color to my projects!
So I decided to Focus On: BRADS today!
And one of my favorite way to use brads is as the center of flowers!
On this layout I fussy cut some flowers from 2 different sheets of KI patterned paper.
I scattered the flowers along the bottom of the layout and added these and these epoxy brads to the centers of the larger green flowers.
Brads were an easy way to add some fun color & dimension to the flowers!
Is anyone else as big a fan of brads as I am??
*****
There is another HUGE giveaway on the Bella Blvd blog today!
You could go leave a comment for a chance to win if you want to.
But I am pretty sure I am going to win so it may be in vain.
ha!
yeah right!
YIPPEEEEE!!!

TGIF!
