So I did a little scrapping over the weekend with
my Bees Knees kit from Noel Mignon.
I went with a friend (Kali) to the Homewood Library a few weekends ago to meet the author of some great books we have been reading.
{yes i can be quite the nerd but you already knew that with all this scrapping stuff!}
I totally acted like a goober when I met her but of course I had to document the occasion!

That wordy paper from GCD Studios in the Bees Knees kit
was perfect for the theme of this page!
I actually inked the light blue canvas Thickers that come
in the kit with brown ink to distress them a bit.
I wasn't so sure how that was going to turn out...but it worked!
And I couldn't make my journaling work on the front of the layout.
It just didn't look right no matter how I tried it.
So I did all my journaling on the back of the page instead!

Well her name is Rachel Hawkins & she is an Alabama girl!
She is the author of the Hex Hall series.
It is a young adult series {yes at 33 I am still young adult thank you very much!} that has kind of a Twilight meets Harry Potter thing going on.
And it is great!

There will be 3 books in the series and the 3rd book will be out March 2012.
Usually I am late to the party with all trendy things,
{uh i didn't read the Twilight books until after i had already seen the first movie!}
so I am not used to having to wait.
And I am not very happy about it!
Patience is not a virtue of mine!
ha!

My daughters are reading these books. Wish I known about the author coming to the Homewood library, I think my daughters would have liked to meet her. Cute layout. :)
