Fun stamping technique!

Hey!
Good morning!
Y'all know I am not much of a stamper so you are probably shocked that I am actually sharing a "stamping technique" today.
Well pick your jaw up from the floor because I am!
Disclaimer: I am pretty sure this is not some earth-shattering, never-done-before technique but I am sharing it nonetheless.
:)
I am going to show you how to make the flower on this card.

I made this card with my "Our Summer" kit from Noel Mignon and in the kit was the teardrop-shaped ink pad that I used.
If you don't have the same ink pad I used, you can also use one of the cateye ink pads.
All you need is a sheet of white paper/cardstock, ink pad, pen, & scissors.

And this is what you do...
1). Stamp the ink pad all over the white paper.
These will be your "petals".
I use 5 petals for my flower but I stamped a few extra so I could choose the ones I liked best.

2). Outline the petals with black pen.
Don't worry about outlining them perfectly.
Sometimes the messiness is more fun!

3). Now cut them out.
Once again, don't worry about cutting them out precisely.

4). Arrange them like a flower and add a fun center!

Done!
Now you have a fun flower to add to a project!

So there it is...probably the one and only stamping technique you will ever see from me!
:)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Plan B

If I can't wear the lucky shirt to the wedding,
I am hoping these will work instead.
They are a little more appropriate.

Soapbox

I am getting on mine for a second.

1.
If you have lived in Alabama {or the South for that matter} for even a small amount of time you should know better than to plan your wedding on a Saturday during the months of September, October, & November.
{and not on the first Saturday in December either}
Seriously.
I know that your wedding is bigger than a mere football game.
So there are 9 other months in which you can plan yours.
We got married on a Sunday.
Everyone was happy. All our friends in the wedding still like us.

{All that to say that we will not be able to watch the highly touted match up between Alabama and LSU tomorrow because we will be at a wedding. Kick off is at 2:30. The bride walks down the aisle at 2:30. I have tried on several outfits with my lucky Bama shirt but I just can't make it work as wedding attire. So you can totally blame the McElveens if Alabama does not win. I am thinking positively but you know what happened last year.}

2.
If you are getting married on a Saturday, do not wait until the Friday before to get the wedding band.
Your friends who always come through {like my husband} would rather not spend a beautiful afternoon trouncing around all over town finding a wedding band for you when you should have taken care of that looooong ago.
If you end up with an ugly pewter one, don't blame us.
Get it yourself next time.

Dismount from soap box.
{don't worry, I will be back & in a better mood later}
:)

Painful...

...to watch.
But I cannot be blamed this time.
Lee and I sit here on our couch upstairs clad in our "lucky" crimson t-shirts.
I even threw on a sweatshirt at the half for reinforcement.
Andre, I am mad at you. Your being gone did make a difference. But please come back.
How many times can 1 quarterback be sacked?!
I think their are some vengeful Auburn fans calling up Utah fans with a cool bumper sticker idea about "Honk if you've sacked..."
Geez, JP, get rid of the ball why don't ya?!
I missed you, Glen Coffee, and your mad manuevering skills.
Nice run Javi. Thanks for a glimpse of hope.
Painful, yes.
But I will be back next year.
Probably with new t-shirts.
Roll tide.

True fans

True fans will rush out of a party they drove 4 1/2 hours to attend and make a mad dash to anywhere in the middle of nowhere Georgia that is showing the big game.
True fans will drive and drive and not stop for gas until they are practically running on fumes hoping to make it somewhere in time for kick off.
True fans will take a keen interest in this sign inside of this Citgo in the metropolis of Eatonton, GA.
True fans get really excited to find a 48" flatscreen TV with HD inside a dark, quiet room filled with comfy padded chairs and all the snacks & drinks they could ever eat just a few yards away.

True fans make sure the quiet room does not stay that way for long as they cheer on their favorite team.
True fans partake in a yummy dinner during halftime at the delicious meet & 3 restaurant attached to the Citgo.
True fans hold out hope for a comeback until the last possible tick of the clock.
True fans are pleased with the season that went much better than expected.
True fans are excited to even be part of the SEC championship game.
True fans hope that Tebow gets the Heisman...again. I mean, how can you not route for a guy with Phil. 4:13 on his eye black??!
True fans will route for Florida to beat Oklahoma in the national championship game...badly.
True fans will go buy new crimson t-shirts and are eagerly awaiting next season.
Amen.
and Roll Tide!!!

Can I get a ROLL TIDE!?!!

I think it only appropriate that today I share my latest contribution to the KI gallery and then ask for a favor.
Today is a big day: SEC championship game in the Georgia Dome against a hot Florida team. And I am not just referring to Tebow-the whole team is on fire right now.
Every game Lee has watched wearing a new crimson t-shirt while sitting on our upstairs couch.
And he has become ridiculously superstitious about it this year. See layout journaling.
Well today of all days is his grandmother's 85th birthday and the family is celebrating with her in her hometown just south of Atlanta.
And we will be there also.
Which means that we will not be wearing our crimson t-shirts while sitting on our upstairs couch to watch the game.
Oh, horror.
So I please ask that all Alabama fans cheer extra loudly, wave an extra flag or pom pom, cross another finger...whatever it takes to make up for what the McElveens will not be able to contribute today.
If they lose, we will take full responsibility.
ROLL TIDE!
**Please note: Lee did test the theory a little bit during last Saturday's game by wearing a sweatshirt over his crimson t-shirt and watching part of the game from our bedroom rather than the couch. So maybe there is hope after all.**
