Confession time

Hey!
My post for Summer Camp over on the CK blog is up today.
I've copied the post below but make sure to check out the CK blog because there is also a challenge, a free font, a sketch, and a chance to win a mini album from Basic Grey!
*****
Don’t throw tomatoes at me, but I don’t do Project Life or the pocket scrapbooking that is all the rage right now.
That is shocking, I know!
Confession: I have started a couple of times but didn't make it longer than a month.
Fail!
:)
I am doing something a little bit different.
Instead of having a huge Project Life album (or several) for the year, I am doing something much smaller.
I have created a mini-album titled "Bits & Pieces of Life".

This is a cool burlap album from Little Yellow Bicycle!

I am including some of my favorite pictures from throughout the year. Instead of trying to document every day or every week, I am using this album to highlight some specific moments/events/happenings from the year.
This I can do!
:)
So here is a page from the album.
A few weekends ago we made a road trip up to Chattanooga to hang out with friends and ride mountain bikes.
This is a weekend I wanted to highlight!

{click to enlarge}

Along the right side of the 2-page spread, I created a border using a cute bicycle stamp from Bo Bunny Press.
I stamped the bicyles with brown ink and then added a little bling to the bicycle tires to jazz up the image a bit.

Supplies:
Mini album (Little Yellow Bicycle)
Cover: Patterned paper (Simple Stories), Cardstock (Bazzill), Flair (Simple Stories), Ribbon (My Mind's Eye)
Inside spread: Patterned paper (Simple Stories), Die cut tag (Chic Tags), Bling (Bo Bunny), Stamp (Bo Bunny), Flair (A Flair for Buttons, Etsy), Ink (Stampin' Up!), Pen (American Crafts)

Have a great day!

Eat cake

Happy hump day people!!
And happy February!
{where did January go? didn't i just put up my Christmas decorations??}
****
There was a sketch challenge over at Little Yellow Bicycle in January.
I loved the sketch!

And since I had a bunch of Cupcake Love that I had not used yet, I decided to play along!

I know I have already scrapped my birthday but I really felt the cake deserved a layout all its own!
It was really hard to not add a banner to that page...since I want to add them to everything lately!
I am quite proud of myself for breaking away from the sketch & resisting this time!
{it probably won't happen again!}
****
And since it is a new month, that means a new Midnight Rooster kit is about to make its debut!
I have been a scrappin' fool with it too!
:)

The full reveal will be next week!
Stay tuned!
****
Have a good one!
:)

P.S.
Is anyone excited that it is national signing day today?
The way my husband has been talking about it I thought it might be a federal holiday.
I even checked my schedule to see if I had to go to work.
I do.

Oh the irony

How ironic that 2 days after I made this post some of the fabulous new Savor line from Little Yellow Bicycle showed up at my house.
And it is delicious!!
These flower stickers are so cute!
And how fun are these cardstock stickers!!??
Well rather than risk ruining the beauty of this line with silly layouts about my cooking adventures, I decided to make a couple of cards!
***
I'll be back soon!
I'm being
published!!
***
But I do have an idea for a layout about my grandmother's Thanksgiving dinner that, of course, this line would be perfect for!
Off to find a picture!
:)
Happy Sunday!

Update

Anybody remember this layout from a few years ago??
Well I thought it was time for an update...
Supplies: Patterned paper, stickers (Little Yellow Bicyle), Brads (American Crafts)

Journaling reads:
I did a layout in 2006 titled "Daddy's Little Girl" about Shada & Lee. I wrote on the layout about how Shada cowers if Lee disciplines her but she basically ignores me if I try. She greets him energetically at the door but she might not know I exist. I mentioned how she comes a running if he calls her but she plays deaf with me. Since 4 years have passed since that previous layout, I figure it is time for an update. So here's the update: there is no update! Refer back to previous layout. My status has not changed & Shada is still very much her Daddy's little girl. Maybe things will eventually change...ha!

Confession

Sometimes I choose to do certain things knowing in the back of my mind that I have the perfect scrapbook paper back home to use to document the occasion.
For example, I never ever would have run this 5k or dressed a fool like this if I did not have a stash of the Free Spirit line from Little Yellow Bicycle that I was anxious to use!!
Supplies: Patterned paper, rub-ons, stickers, alphabet (all Little Yellow Bicycle Free Spirit), Bling (Heidi Swapp for Advantus)
{anybody believing me??}
:)

I finally got a chance to use some of the new Pack Your Bags line from Little Yellow Bicycle.
This is a very cool travel line!!
The papers are in great colors and textures.
And there is a variety of fun embellishments to match.
Here are some of my favorite things from this line:
These stickers are so cool!
And I love this sheet of paper!
Anywhooooo, there is the layout I made with this line.
It's about the trip Lee & I made to GA for his grandmother's birthday party & oyster boil.
Supplies: Patterned paper, alphabet stickers, die cuts (Little Yellow Bicycle); brads & pen (American Crafts); twine
I originally planned to add my journaling in strips on the bottom of the layout.
But I had too much I wanted to write and it ended up looking busy & cluttered.
Instead I added the journaling on the back of the layout.
I put numbers on the back of the layout just like I did on the front so the journaling corresponds to the correct picture.
I've never done this before and I think I like it!
{of course it might get annoying having to pull the layout out of the page protector to read the journaling. we'll see how that goes}
Hope you are having a great Sunday!

I want to answer a couple of questions I have gotten recently...
1) Kirby asked about Kenner Road. Unfortunately there will be no more KR kits. Kerry Lynn decided to stop doing kits with Kenner Road but she will still be doing her digital stuff for 2peas!
2) Karine asked about getting involved in challenges. There are lots of places that do challenges regularly! My Mind's Eye does a challenge every month on their blog. KI Memories puts up a challenge on their blog every Monday. There are several blogs dedicated just to challenges. Scrapjacked and Scrapping the Music are a couple of fun ones that come to mind. Also Scrap Weekly 2010 is a new blog this year that puts up a cool challenge every week!
If anyone else knows of great challenge sites, chip in!
I hope that helps!

Notice this trend on many of these layouts??!!
ha!

Happy Easter!!

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him
we might become the righteousness of God.

He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

A layout a day for a week

Have I mentioned that I am working on a baby book for my friend/freshman year neighbor/PT school roommate??
{i mean, she put up with alot-this is the least i can do}
Well I have been sitting on these pictures since October, so I have got to get my lazy butt in gear & get to work on this thing!
So I am giving myself a little challenge!
I am going to try to make 1 layout a day for the next 7 days.
{and that is pretty good for me because i don't normally get alot of scrapping done during the work week}
I might be pulling out some sketches & doing some scraplifting over the next week!
And I've got a bunch of the new Snugglebug line from Little Yellow Bicycle that I am excited to use!
Since I decided to issue myself this challenge at about 8:30 tonight, I had to make today's layout a super quick one.
So I took this layout that I did a while ago & scraplifted it to come up with something different.

Supplies: Patterned paper, chipboard embellishments, buttons (Little Yellow Bicycle), Die cut title & nesting circles (Quickutz)

Here is the new layout!

Supplies: Patterned paper, chipboard embellishments, journaling circles, rub-ons, stickers (Little Yellow Bicycle), "B" alpha sticker (Making Memories)
Ain't he a little cutie!??!
OK that is 1 day down, 1 layout completed!
Go me!
