Yesterday in pictures

{with narration for your entertainment of course}
_________________________________________________________
It started with a half marathon in MS.
That's my mom & I.
And this is David, my dad, and me.
It is way too early in the morning at this point so sleepy eyes are allowed.
It was 84 degrees at the 6 AM start.
And humid.
At about mile 5 this weird fan came out of the crowd & ran with me.
But he was struggling so he didn't make it very far.
:)
Plus there was some redhead that he was more interested in anyway.
And then he emerged again at mile 12!!
This time the heat had gotten to him and he was acting a fool!
And I need a tan.
I was aiming for under 2 hours but I gave it all I had so I am satisfied.
I will say I have redeemed myself.
{for now}
You would think these things would get easier.
I am still waiting for that.
Ah, the best part of the morning!!
This is Stu, me, Dave, and the redhead {aka Ginny}.

Then I jumped in the car and headed home because I had a date with Lee to the Carrie Underwood concert in Birmingham.
2nd row seats were not a bad deal at all.
She has some pipes!
So you are telling me that without American Idol, she would just be some random chick in Oklahoma working a regular job and singing in church??!
No way.

She is absolutely gorgeous.
And puts on a heck of a concert!
I am not sure who likes her more...me or Lee!!
I am pretty sure those 2nd row seats weren't just coincidence.
:)
It was a long day but it was a good one for sure!!
Have a great rest of your weekend!

Did you hear about this??

There was an Alabama fan driving down a country road when he came upon two Auburn football players hitchiking.
He told the Auburn players to jump in the back of his pick-up truck.
He then drove down the dirt road rather fast & lost control of the truck as they were going around a curve.
The truck landed in a lake.
The Alabama fan scrambled to the surface and swam to the bank.

When he looked back at the lake, the two Auburn football players were still sitting in the bed of the truck looking frantic.

As the truck began sinking the Bama fan yelled for the Auburn players to get out truck, to which they replied,
"We're tryin' to get out, but we can't get the dang tailgate open!"

:)

Ramblings

I feel a little lacking in the blog posting department since layout a day in May is over.
So now I am just rambling.
But I will have some fun stuff to share soon.

Anybody see the new Pack your Bags line from Little Yellow Bicycle?
I just got some of it and I tell ya...I'm thinking of planning a road trip just to have an excuse to use it!
It is delish!
And actually it is "travel themey" BUT the papers & alphas & ribbons, etc are not so themey and can be easily used for something other than a travel page.
I feel some craftiness coming on tonight.

Want to win a prize??
Go over to this post on the KI blog and post a page using lace cardstock for a chance to win some of the new lace cardstock.
Uh, hurry though!
It is due tomorrow!
Just post a page you have already made!
Or drop everything and go scrapbook now!
:)

I have a half this weekend.
13.1 in the hot sun.
It is my redemption run.
I am trying to redeem myself from a very bad half at Talladega back in April.
There is a reason I didn't mention that run here.
I was too mad.
And I am way too competitive.
So I am running for a better showing on Saturday.
:)

Pencil Lines!

My Little Shoebox has teamed up with Pencil Lines again this month.
Pencil Lines gives us a sketch; we use our MLS products to make a layout with the sketch.
And I do love me some sketches!
I got to work with sketch #190 & this sketch is right up my alley!
So here is what I made...
Supplies: Patterned paper, die cut paper, die cuts, chipboard alphas (My Little Shoebox); Bling (Little Yellow Bicycle & Heidi Swapp for Advantus)

Make sure to check out the Pencil Lines site to see what the rest of the team made with the sketch.
Thanks for looking at mine!

MLS + Punky Sprouts

Back in the saddle!
Back to blogging after a little break last week!
________________________
Punky Sprouts hooked the My Little Shoebox team up with fun albums to play with this month!
I got to play with this one called "Savvy Sprout".
I took a little inspiration from Katie who always makes the coolest planners, the All a Flutter line from My Little Shoebox, some red paint, a few buttons & bling, a Sakura pen, & my Bind-It-All and made this journal/organizer.

I actually took the entire book apart before I started anything.
I painted or covered with patterned paper all the chipboard pages of the album.
And then I put the Bind-It-All to good use!
I used it to re-punch holes in the pages I covered with patterned paper.
I also used it to punch holes in regular copy paper and notebook paper to add more pages to my organizer.
Here I printed out monthly calendars for the rest of the year & used the Bind-It-All to punch holes in them so I could add them to the front of the book. I looove the flowers in this line!
I made a little pocket to hold coupons.
{i am really trying to do the coupon thing but seems like i always end up at the store without the correct coupon!}
I messily painted the canvas pages of the album and then used a black Sakura pen to label the sections.
This is just plain ole white copy paper that I will use for sketches and ideas.
I think this may be a better way to keep up with receipts I need to save rather than stuffing them in the bottom of my purse.
{however i almost hate to change my system after it has been working all these years!}
:)
I recycled an old notebook & used the pages as part of this book instead.
The end!
Wow, you are still here!??
Impressive!
:)
Thanks for looking!
Hope you are having a great weekend!
