It was beautiful

And very sweet.
And alot of fun!
The bride was gorgeous.
The groom was handsome.
The weather couldn't have been better.
There was no drama.
There was, however, a missing wedding band.
But the sister (coughcoughmecough) came to the rescue.
And all but one of the bridesmaids stumbled a little bit going up the stairs.
{of course i was not the one but thank you for thinking about it for just a second}
But I did not fall on my face.
There were some bets between me and the baby brother about how much Dave would cry.
I was sure Dave would be a wreck.
Stu thought he would be stronger than that.
Well Dave lost it when Ginny came down the aisle.
So I win that one.
But he did make it through his vows without cracking.
It was a wash.
Should I bust Stu and mention how he couldn't get through his little toast at the rehearsal dinner without a box of Kleenex??!
:)
{the brothers...no tears pictured}

{Dave and his best man...aka my dad}

{with the mother of the groom with her hair did!}

{the fam with my grandmother Grams who cannot look at the camera to save her life}

And they are married!

P.S.
You know it is a fun wedding if my Lee will voluntarily get out on the dance floor and cut a rug!

Midnight Rooster reveal!!

The March kit from Midnight Rooster is live
and up for sale!
And I had a good ole time playing with mine!
{i got both the main and add-on kits}
Here's one about my great friend Brooke.
{crazy girl}
Patterned paper (Cosmo Cricket, Sassafras, October Afternoon); Flowers (Sassafras); Buttons (Cosmo Cricket); Alphabets (American Crafts, October Afternoon), Die cut butterflies (in the kit!!)
bling is from my stash

Here's one about a dreadful run I did on July 4th a couple years ago.
OK it wasn't necessarily "dreadful" but it was 4 miles straight up hill & then 4 miles back downhill.
Changed my mind again...it was dreadful!
:)
Patterned paper (Glitz, October Afternoon, Crate Paper); Alphabet (American Crafts); Journaling sticker (October Afternoon); Buttons (Cosmo Cricket)
stars & brad are from my stash

I totally didn't mean to go all holiday with this kit!
That previous layout was kind of a July 4th page and this next one is all Christmas-y.
That's a good, versatile kit if you ask me!
:)
Patterned paper (Studio Calico, Echo Park, October Afternoon); Alphabet (American Crafts); Buttons (Cosmo Cricket); Sticker (October Afternoon)
brads are from my stash

And here are a couple of cards for ya...
Patterned paper (October Afternoon, Sassafras); Apron Lace border punch
I didn't make that flower.
It was pre-made in the kit!
*****

I am working on a 2-pager too but it is not quite done yet.
Hopefully I will finish it soon!
But that's all I've got for now!
:)
Happy Wednesday!!

new challenge!

Happy Monday!
There is a new challenge up at Noel Mignon today.
And it is all about cards and scraps and tools.
Basically we were challenged to make a couple of cards using scraps from old kits and 1 tool of our choice.
I just went with my Truly Scrumptious kit since I have so much of it left.
{even though i have already made a ton of stuff with it!}
And I used my Fiskars Apron Lace border punch.
Truly Scrumptious + Apron Lace border punch =
these 2 cards
Fun, easy cards!!
Make sure to check out the challenge blog over at Noel Mignon and see what everyone else made.
And play along with us!!

OK now I've got somethin'

I finally got to play with the fun new Puffies from KI!!
I just made a couple of quick cards last night but I will be using these things alot!!
{at least until i run out!!}
For these cards I just used some patterned paper, cardstock scraps, a little blingy bling, and Puffies!!
The Puffies can add quite a pop to a simple ole card!
OK now I feel better that I have made something.
My hands were starting to twitch!

i've got nothin'

too much work
too much wedding
too much traveling
not enough time
not enough scrapping!
:)
I have been trying to clean up and organize my pictures and put everything on an external hard drive.
And I stumbled upon some very old layouts I made and started doing a little scrappy reminiscing!
For example, the first ever design team I was on was for an online store called Essence of Memories
{unfortunately it is no longer open...no comments Katie or Virginia!}
The first design team box I got was full of Gen X stuff.
{anyone remember that company??! i think it had another name too. i loved it whatever it was called!}
The first assignment as a team member was to do an "all about me" layout.
Voila!
And I made this layout too with all my goodies.
This was just the first of many times that I scrapped feet on the beach pictures!
And then here are first 2 layouts I ever had published.
They were in the same issue of Scrapbook Trends but I don't remember which issue exactly.
{i am pretty sure i have the original issue around here somewhere!}
I got the emails requesting the layouts when I was at work and dangit if no one there wanted to share my excitement!!
:)
Here is the first layout I ever had published for pay.
It was for a special issue of Memory Makers.
And it further deepened my love of Nascar.
And unlike most of the layouts on this post, I still like this page!
And this might be my favorite layout off all time.
still.

My style used to be alot funkier.
Now it is pretty clean and normal.
I wonder why the change.
Maybe it is my old age.
:)
And I hope you enjoyed my trip down scrappy memory lane!
No laughing at my layouts!
